Our annual Christmas party saw us all enjoy dressing up for a 60s/70s night. Most of us can’t remember much about the evening but fortunately we have these photos to help us!

Christmas Special at Shotley Bridge

Shotley Bridge became a scene from a Charles Dickens novel as it staged a Victorian weekend and Christmas lights switch on during the weekend of December 5th.

Most of the local businesses opened their doors across the weekend to provide plenty of festive cheer to the hundreds of people who turned out to support the important and wide ranging local businesses on their doorstep.

Pauline Henderson and the team at SB did a terrific job of trying to ensure that even ‘dull’ accountancy offices were worth a visit though we suspect the festive goodies on offer may have helped!

From November 16th we have relocated our Shotley Bridge offices directly across the road from 47 Front Street to 7 Front Street. After 2 years of growth and development of the SB office we had simply outgrown the space we had and when the larger and more suitable premises at No. 7 came up we didn’t hesitate to move into them. We now have better meeting facilities, more individual staff offices and still retain a great position on the high street.

On November 14th 2009 Butler & Gee staged our second annual charity ball at the Morritt Arms Hotel near Barnard Castle. Once again we chose the local branch of Cancer Research UK as our benefactor and we were delighted to better last years total by raising over £7100 for this very worthy cause. The evening was enjoyed by 200 guests who generously bid for some wonderful items in our charity auction and tombola. Up for grabs were a weekend in a Motorhome, a signed Sunderland FC shirt, the Morrits’ own chef to cook in your own home, a ride in a Ferrari and many more terrific lots! After the auction business was complete we danced the night away to the live sounds of ‘Pop Idol’ Aaron Bailey’s band. We would like to give a massive thanks to all our guests for supporting the event and of course to the many people and businesses who donated prizes. We have provisionally booked the Morritt Arms for Saturday November 20th to do it all again!
