Sept 2010 Charity Slaves

On a lovely sunny evening in September, Chris and Darren fulfilled a long standing appointment to act as ‘slaves’ to the highest bidder!butler gee accountancy north east During the 2009 Butler & Gee Charity Ball, Chris and Darren were ‘auctioned off’ as slaves to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Simon and Pam Rossinelli were the highest bidders and the slave debt was subsequently discharged by way of a marathon car washing and polishing session.
Simon and Pam had arranged for their family, friends and neighbours all to benefit as a queue started to form outside the Rossinelli household. There were plenty of happy customers and despite the workers complaining of ‘Polishers Elbow and Spongers Cramp’ a good night was had by all.

Sincere and special thanks to Simon and Pam for been so generous with their bid and also that they didn’t give Chris & Darren a really bad job as threatened! – We really thought that we would need our drain rods!!!!

August 2010 - A Day at the Races

Our annual staff outing to the races took us to Ladies Day at York this year as part of the famous Ebor meeting. Once again everyone was decked out in their finery and fascinators (?) for the big event which was bathed in fabulous sunshine and blue skies for most of the day.

With no obvious horse racing experts we once again pinned tails on donkeys, however, Ian had done a little bit of pre event homework and was soon in the money having aligned himself to jockey Keiron Fallon for the afternoon.

Back in November Butler & Gee held their third annual charity ball in support of the local Teesdale branch of Cancer Research UK. Once again the black tie ball was sold out well in advance as 180 guests enjoyed a splendid evening at the Morritt Arms Hotel near Barnard Castle. 2010 Charity BAll

Live band, ‘The Funk Conspiracy’ were on hand to ensure the dancing kept in full swing with DJ Andrew Nicholson filling the floor in between their sets. Of course as well as having lots of fun the evening was all about raising money for this worthy charity and we were delighted to amass the fantastic sum of £8,644.30 by the end of the night. Our special charity auction was a big factor in reaching this figure as many of guests outbid each other for such lots as a week in the Cape Verde Islands, a helicopter trip and VIP tour of Durham Cathedral along with SAKS hairdressing for a year, a dinner party at home provided by the Morritt Arms chef and even a Ladies etiquette class courtesy of Jill Harboard. To the generous people who both provided the ‘lot’ and to those who bid for them we are sincerely grateful as we have now raised over £22,500 for Cancer Research and are already looking forward to this years event on Nov 12th 2011 at the Morritt Arms Hotel. Full details will be announced nearer the time….

2010 Charity Ball raises grand total of £8,644

October 2010 - Annual Charity Ball

Our third annual Charity Ball in aid of Cancer Research takes place on Saturday November 13th at the Morritt Arms Hotel near Barnard Castle. Tickets are now virtually sold out and once again it looks like the evening will be another huge success. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our clients and friends we have during the last 2 events raised a total of over £13000 for the charity and just as importantly had a couple of fantastic evenings into the bargain. We are all looking forward to this year’s event where we will again hold a charity auction and tombola and then dance the night away to top North East band The Funk Conspiracy.
