Sheep Race

Shaun the Sheep and ChrisButler & Gee were delighted to once again be a sponsor of the Teesdale Sheep Grand National in August 2015. This is a fantastic local event where a series of races are held with sheep effectively being chased over a few jumps and to the finish line which of course is hugely entertaining.

The event is put on by a great bunch of volunteers and over £3000 was raised for local charities which was an excellent achievement. As well as sponsoring our own race, the 'Sheepsteak Sweepstake', we also had a runner named 'Lambretta' that unfortunately decided to nibble the grass more than show any competitive spirit!

Butler and Gee were once again proud to sponsor and support the Teesdale Business awards held in February 2015. The awards are a fantastic way to recognise the success of local entrepreneurs in various different fields and sectors. The ceremony is a celebration of everything that is good about working for yourself, serving your customers and clients to a high standard, being a reputable employer and of course making a success of all this. Once again Butler and Gee sponsored the ‘Young Entrepreneur’ award and a good number of nominees had votes cast for them that allowed us to shortlist Adam Bainbridge of Teesdale Renewables Ltd and Jennifer Cartwright of R3b00t and Reality Studios Ltd for the award. After much deliberation here at the office we decided that Adam and his fast growing renewable energy was a very worthy winner. In true awards ceremony Adam was not able to attend the evening to collect the award, however, his proud Mum and Sister were there to collect the lovely glass trophy on his behalf. A full list of all the winners on the evening and other information about the awards is available here.

After six hugely successful annual events on the trot we caught our breath in 2014 and had a year off from staging our annual charity ball event. One of the main reasons for this sabbatical was that Lisa our chief event organiser was on maternity leave and it would be far too difficult for Chris and Darren to organise an event without her! We are hugely proud to have raised just shy of £50,000 for Cancer Research from these events and we would like to thank all our clients, guests and friends who have helped us achieve this all while enjoying a wonderful night out! We are pleased to confirm that we are now in full planning mode for our next event likely to be held in summer 2016 – full details to follow.
